Candidates who successfully meet all LEAD SNORKELLING ACTIVITIES course competency requirements will receive a statement of attainment in the unit of competency SISOSNK002 LEAD SNORKELLING ACTIVITIES, issued by PADI Asia Pacific Registered Training Organization (RTO #6729).
Prerequisite
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be certified as a PADI Free-Diver or complete the SISOSNK001 Snorkel course,.
• Hold a statement of attainment in HLTAID011 Provide First Aid within 24 months. If the qualification is over 12 months old, a current HLTAID009 Provide CPR is also required.
• Be medically evaluated and cleared for skin diving by a physician within 12 months.

Courses are held on a regular basis and are usually tailored to the requirements of the participants. Contact us for assistance. Minimum and maximum number of students are required.

Key Skills and Knowledge
Participants in the Lead Snorkelling Activities course will develop the following skills and knowledge:
- Demonstrate and instruct snorkelling techniques:
Capably provide verbal instructions and demonstrations for people of a range ages and capabilities, providing reasons for doing things a certain way. - Lead and supervise snorkelling activities according to predetermined activity plans:
Organise safety, emergency response and first aid procedures for snorkelling activity sessions. Structure clear roles and responsibilities of different activity leaders and support staff with communication protocols. - Adjust activities according to prevailing conditions and participant capabilities:
Identify potential hazards and associated risks, implementing safety procedures and planning designated areas for snorkelling accordingly. Learn how to select appropriate equipment and exposure suits by age, size and weight, snorkeller experience and skill level, fitness and physical capabilities, injuries and medical conditions, and emotional, behavioural or intellectual ability or disability. - Manage routine problems and emergencies:
Understand group dynamics and techniques used to manage positive group dynamics, watching for signs, stages and levels of conflict within groups. Learn techniques used to resolve problems at various stages of escalation.
